Born in 1853, Frederick was the youngest son of Mary Hester (1813-1880) and Richard King (1804-1868). Uncle of Mary Emma Sercombe (1859-1922), he was a brother of her mother Mary Hannah King (1837-1874). Frederick’s wife shares the grave, and the plot is near those of Horatio Sercombe (1843-1915) and Henry Sercombe (1857-1916).

The headstone bears the following inscription:

In loving memory of my dear wife Sarah Emma King who fell asleep Aug. 3rd 1922 ~
Gone but not forgotten ~
Also of Frederick William King beloved husband of the above who died
May 5th 1928 aged 75 years ~
At rest ~
