WILLIAM & EMMA SERCOMBE HEADSTONE
WILLIAM & EMMA SERCOMBE HEADSTONE

The occasion of my visit to Abney Park Cemetery in 2015 with cousin Sue Parkins to find the grave of Emma Giffard Sercombe (1807-1853) and William Goode Sercombe (1801-1869). Their headstone had fallen flat and was buried beneath a thick growth of ivy and nettles. This photograph shows Sue cleaning debris away.
William Goode Sercombe and Emma Giffard were grandparents of Mary Emma Sercombe (1859-1922).
